Beyond Talk Therapy

Beneath the Mask lives your True Authentic Self. Let's Explore what's waiting within to discover.

As a collaborator with you along your journey to uncover the false self and remove the masks, I will be your guide and actively listen, hold a safe space, ask pointed questions, and be present with you as we develop specific goals aimed for YOUR inspired action steps to MakeSense and Move Forward in your Awareness, Growth, Healing and Change.

We will utilize MakeSense™ therapy stepping stones that include Nature-based; Expressive Arts; Narrative; and Somatic therapies that move beyond traditional talk therapy. This multi-modal wholistic Body-Mind-Spirit approach helps You to release old patterns and strive to allow Your most authentic Self to Shine.

“The fundamental work of the Somatic Coach is to guide the person to feel and be with this animating force that makes them alive. This is life moving toward life.”― Richard Strozzi-Heckler, The Art of Somatic Coaching: Embodying Skillful Action, Wisdom, and Compassion

Gail Marina Trauma Therapist offers Nature-based, Mindfulness, & Walk-n-Talk outdoor therapy
Nature-based

MakeSense™ represents a learning modality of how our Mind, Body, Heart and Spirit communicates within  while paying attention to and baring witness to the natural world, by weaving together the felt-sense connection of the 5 senses, intuitive/gut impulses  as instruments that guide, direct, lead, allow, and affect us on a daily basis. Most of the time, many of us are out of attunement to our deeper *felt-sense, and when out of balance interference occurs and we experience pain, suffering, confusion, uncertainty, and fear. When our felt-sense perceptions are connected and "online", we experience a sense of well-being through feelings of joy, peace, calm, wholeness, health, happy/content, confident, and complete.

Gail Marina Trauma Therapist is a depth psychotherapist helping clients become and live their most authentic self and life
Expressive Arts

As a visual and performing artist, with training, experience, and passion for creativity, movement and self-exploration, I have incorporated my background as an educator with training in Expressive Arts therapy. This process allows for freedom, fluidity and flow to occur within when client's inner world struggles with Trauma, CPTSD, Grief/Loss, Anxiety, Low Self Esteem and difficulty with Life Transitions. Expressive Arts require no art experience and supports a shame-free safe environment for self awareness and and self expression to grow. Engaging in healing at the brain-body level. Expressive Arts activities help client's tap into self-reflection and discovery which help heal all parts that are needing our attention to thrive.

Somatic (Body-Centered)

My approach to somatic based therapy combines education, empathic listening, narrative story-telling, mind-body practices, components of socratic dialogue, and eco/nature-based mindfulness tools & techniques to help encourage clients to become attuned to their Authentic Self in relation to others and the natural world. Building upon our senses of Touch, Sound, Sight, Sensorimotor and embodiment we mindfully focus our healing journey using intrinsic body-centered, kinesthetic, and felt sense parts of the brain-body interoceptive and haptic sense perception. This approach taps into emotions and our sense of safety and place within deepens self-awareness, self-love, while regulating the central nervous system and cultivating compassion for the natural environment.

Healing with art is a journey that will take you into the depths of your soul. There you will encounter parts of yourself that you never knew existed. As you create the artwork that exposes these parts of yourself so that you may know and understand them and the mysteries they hold, you will be healed.
